The exhibition room is darkened. In one half of the room there is an industrial sewing machine, working away on nothing. A lamp is suspended above. In the other half of the room stands a 16 mm projector. It transports a film loop and projects a bodily section on the wall: a naked, unprotected part of the body – below the collar-bone, above the breast – which contracts and expands with the rhythm of the breathing. The breathing is fast and excited, calming down at times and then speeding up again. The room is filled with sound of the projector motor and the sewing machine as it runs.
